What should I ask a real estate agent about a short sale?
One of the best ways that you can identify if the Real Estate Agent has experience in completing short sales is through the questions that they will ask you.
Here are some of those questions:
What is your current situation?
Can you tell me more about the house?
Those types of questions and most importantly, they should be digging into your financial situation.
I know that might be something that you want to withhold, yet if I’m your agent, I really need to understand what your situation is so I can be able to help and advise you properly.
Next questions will be,
How far are you on your payments?
How many loans do you have?
What is causing you to sell the house?
When is the timeframe?
And… What are your hardships?
So, you must really think of the hardships that you really have.
I’ve experienced a lot of these scenarios when some clients think that they don’t have but when we are going deeper in resolving - there comes that hardship.
Ultimately the bank will decide whether you have a hardship or not.
