What We Can Expect from Amazon’s New Headquarters

How will Amazon’s HQ2 impact the market in Northern Virginia?

As you’ve probably heard by now, Amazon is going to be bringing some 25,000 jobs into the Northern Virginia area over the next 12 years by setting up their new corporate headquarters (aka “HQ2”) in Crystal City, Arlington. These jobs will likely be created in chunks of around 2,000 at a time over that period.

Our development from now until 2030 is sure to be insane (in a positive way).

The impact on Amazon will be less than the impact on the companies that are going to develop around Amazon. Think about it like this: Our economy in Northern Virginia has historically been the United States government, which is an awesome economy.

Soon, we’ll be adding a big technology corridor to that, led by Amazon. Our development from now until 2030 is sure to be insane (in a positive way). The impact won’t just be caused by the jobs from Amazon themselves, but also by the creation of the jobs that supplement Amazon’s positions.

If you have any questions about how your property value may be impacted directly by Amazon’s HQ2, feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to hearing from you!
