So You Have More Money, Comfort, And Achieve Your Goals Throughout The Process.
The importance of choosing the right real estate agent
The first step to buying a home is to interview agents.
It’s safe to say that the real estate transaction that you’re about to have will largely depend on your agent.
You’ll want to ensure that the agent you hire is the right one for you. The more information you share with them, the better they can help you.
Be in Rapport
A real estate agent with your best interests at heart will be genuinely available to listen to everything you want to happen.
A trained and experienced agent knows how to read between the lines. Most buyers and sellers have a lot of fears and apprehensions, especially in the beginning, that they don’t speak out about.
Agents with experience and connection with you can coax out important information, including what you fear about the process, to appease your nerves and concerns.
They Ask Adept Questions
If you’re a seller, agents will naturally ask about your home, why you’re selling, and other objective details about the home sale.
If you’re a buyer, agents will ask about your budget, wants, and timeline.
Adept questions go deeper than that. It’s questions like the following:
What will buying or selling a home going to do for you?
What are your concerns about buying or selling?
What are you afraid of?
Why Real Estate Agents Ask Personal Questions
Let me tell a story about the difference asking adept questions makes. This story reflects actual events with a buyer looking for a condo in a specific area.
Without deeper context about his situation, and only with the knowledge of his budget and preferences, it’s easy to recommend other condos within his budget but outside of the area he specified.
But upon further questioning, it turns out that he wants to buy a condo in his area of preference because he was recently divorced and his daughter went to a school there. Living there would allow him to have partial custody of his daughter.
Additionally, he was left by his father when he was young, so he didn’t want the same to happen to his daughter. Buying a condo wasn’t just to find a home but would mean he was a worthy father.
These personal nuances are essential for a real estate agent to know.
It takes an entirely different set of skills to know what to ask to discover that information and much more to understand the clients’ situations.
The right agent would be able to discover that information respectfully and work around the client’s desires.
